Philip Capin is a doctoral student at the University of Texas at Austin (UT) studying special education with a concentration in learning disabilities and behavior disorders. Before joining the Meadows Center for Preventing Educational
Risk and UT, he planned and directed sustainable professional development initiatives to enhance reading instruction and assessment. Capin is also an experienced special education teacher and a certified school administer.
His research interests include empirically validated reading interventions, the measurement of reading comprehension, and response to intervention.
