Melodee Walker is a doctoral student at the University of Texas at Austin studying
learning disabilities and behavior disorders in the Department of Special
Education. Prior to beginning her doctoral studies, Walker was a teacher in
general and special education classrooms across diverse settings. Walker currently
works as a member of a research team investigating the impact of multicomponent
reading interventions. Her research interests include diagnosis and
remediation of learning disability, effective reading instruction, multicultural
issues in special education, and discourse as pedagogy.
