Claire E. Hamilton, Ph.D.
Dr. Hamilton began her career in early childhood education in the 1980s as a child care teacher.
Dr. Hamilton also coordinates the division of Children, Families and Schools at UMass Amherst;
and she teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in child development, early childhood
education, and elementary education. Her research interests include early literacy, early childhood
curriculum, the social context of schooling, and technology-based learning and teaching.
