Daniel J. Whitaker, Ph.D.

Daniel J. Whitaker, Ph.D., is Distinguished University Professor in the School of Public Health at Georgia State University. Dr. Whitaker co-directs the National SafeCare Training and Research Center (NSTRC), which disseminates the evidenced-based parenting model, SafeCare, nationally and internationally. His research has focused on child maltreatment prevention, intimate partner violence prevention, and dissemination and implementation science. His work has been funded by the CDC, NIH, AHRQ, PCORI, ACF, the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, and the Annie E. Casey Foundation. Dr. Whitaker has published more than 100 peer-review papers, books, and chapters, and is past Editor in Chief of Child Maltreatment.
