Mary N. Cook, M.D.

Mary N. Cook, M.D., is a Board Certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist currently serving as the Clinical Director of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Children's Hospital Colorado. Additionally, she is the Medical Director of Outpatient Psychiatric Services at Children's Hospital Colorado, as well as Medical Director of the Intensive Family Therapy Program at the University of Colorado Hospital. She is Assistant Professor of Psychiatry on faculty at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, where she is deeply committed to training child psychiatry residents and other mental health trainees. She recently won a resident-nominated award for teaching excellence as well as The President's Award for Outstanding Clinical Service from the University of Colorado Hospital. Selected in 2010 by Consumers' Research Group as among "America's Top Psychiatrists," Dr. Cook specializes in working with families with children who have been diagnosed with disruptive behavior disorders. She spearheaded the development of a series of Outpatient Psychiatric Specialty Programs, as well as an Intensive Outpatient Psychiatry Program at Children's Hospital Colorado. Dr. Cook coauthored (with Kathy Weldon) a book for school counselors titled Counseling Kids with Emotional and Behavioral Problems in the Schools (Love Publishing Company, 2000) and frequently performs presentations at national and local meetings, hospitals, and academic settings and in the community for schools and primary care providers.
