Dr. van Leijenhorst’s research focuses on how developmental changes in
the ability to control our thoughts and behavior relate to changes in brain
function. She examines these questions in children, adolescents, and young
adults using behavioral as well as brain imaging methods. Her current research
aims to elucidate the development of reading comprehension in relation
to brain development.
