Dr. O’Reilly’s research interests are in assessment, reading comprehension,
reading strategies, metacognition, and the role of background knowledge
in understanding and learning. He is currently involved in projects
aimed at designing and evaluating innovative measures of reading comprehension
for students in pre-K—12 settings.
