Level 2: Creating a Plan for Change

How can you use trauma-informed response to intervention (RTI) to help meet the needs of all students from PreK to Grade 12? Get practical answers from trauma expert Jen Alexander in this one-day training session, held on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 in Terre Haute, Indiana. Open to certified teachers who have already completed Ms. Jen's level 1 training, this informative and engaging seminar dives deeper, showing you how to create an effective trauma-informed RTI plan for your school and develop a personalized self-care plan to help you navigate your own stress.

  • Identify Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 trauma-informed interventions that are already in place in your school
  • Consider ways to strengthen trauma-informed RTI in your school
  • Create a concrete action plan you can put to work right away to help your students
  • Practice using the innovative “River of Feelings” visual and the accompanying activities to help students improve regulation skills
  • Practice trauma-sensitive mindfulness and create a personalized self-care plan

(*Please note: The training will incorporate concepts from the book Building Trauma-Sensitive Schools. Please purchase your copy of the book and bring it with you to the training session.)

GET LEVEL 1 TRAINING: To participate in Level 2 training, you’ll need to complete Jen Alexander's Level 1 seminar, Exploring What Works & Why (held the day before, on March 17). Learn more here.
