For more than 2 decades, Dr. Foley’s career has focused on using assistive technology to improve educational,
social, and vocational outcomes for individuals with complex communication needs. Dr.
Foley's primary research interests are language and literacy development in children with complex
communication needs, and inclusion of students who use AAC in general education settings. Her numerous
publications, conference presentations, and workshops on these topics communicate the critical
need for integrating best practices in AT/AAC, language, and literacy intervention into educational
programming for students with significant disabilities.
