Following completion of her doctoral work at the University of Oxford on cognitive processing in children with specifi c language impairment, Marianna E. Hayiou-Thomas joined the Twins Early Development Study for her postdoctoral training in behavioral genetics. Since then, she has combined her work in behavioral genetics with experimental approaches in order to examine the etiology of language impairment over the course of development, as well as its relationship to literacy.
